Plan now to join us at the 2010 National Rural Transportation Peer Learning Conference, to be held October 20 – 22 in St. Louis, Missouri.  Register and view the conference agenda at www.RuralTransportation.org/pages/page.asp?page_id=93315

This year’s conference will feature mobile workshops, peer training and networking opportunities specifically designed for rural and small metropolitan regions.  Training sessions will cover such issues as transportation and economic development, land use and livable communities, planning for regional transit and coordinated human services transportation, rural transportation safety, freight and intermodal transportation and other topics.  Excellence in Regional Transportation Award winners will also be showcased during the conference.

The conference will also include special networking and learning events held jointly with the Association of Metropolitan Planning Organizations (AMPO) Annual Conference.  This will provide an opportunity to share practices with transportation professionals from medium and large metropolitan regions as well as rural and small metropolitan regions.

Conference sponsors include the Appalachian Regional Commission, Development District Association of Appalachia, Federal Highway Administration, Federal Transit Administration, Mo-Kan Regional Council, and the NADO Research Foundation and NADO’s RPO America.
